Material selection depends strictly on the fluid's chemical acidity, storage temperature, and mechanical stress. Petroleum products (diesel, heating oil, asphalt) are compatible with high-strength, economical ST37/ST52 carbon steel. For food storage (milk, vegetable oils) or highly acidic chemicals, AISI 304 or AISI 316L stainless steel is mandatory. For municipal water or fire sprinklers, hot-dip galvanized steel prevents rust effectively and economically.

Tanks above 100 tons cannot be shipped as single pieces due to road transport width and height regulations. Instead, we pre-fabricate all shell plates, roofs, and structural beams modularly at our plant in Gaziantep, Turkey. These components are containerized and trucked to your site, where our certified field crews assemble and weld the structure under API 650 supervision, including full hydrostatic testing on-site.
How does the heating mechanism function in asphalt storage tanks?
Asphalt cools into a solid block at room temperatures. To keep it pumping, we weave heavy-walled, seamless steel coils inside the tank for circulation of hot thermal oil or steam, sustaining temperatures between 150°C and 180°C. The exterior is wrapped in 100mm high-density rock wool and encapsulated in a weatherproof aluminum jacket.
How do you guarantee leak-proof quality?
We subject 100% of our welds to dye-penetrant or vacuum-box testing. For high-risk chemicals or fuel terminals, we perform complete non-destructive radiographic testing (X-Ray NDT) on structural seam joints to confirm weld penetration, followed by a full-height hydrostatic water-fill test.
